Eye on Santa Ana was a community newsletter/newspaper that was started in 1989 by Santa Ana's Neighborhood Communications Linkage Committee (Comm-Link). The newsletter was created to highlight all of the positive activities occurring in the city - particularly by the various neighborhood organizations which were growing quickly. Funding for the printing of the newsletter was provided by the City's Neighborhood Improvement Department.

The newsletter began as a letter-sized (8.5x11") publication but grew to tabloid-sized (11x17") after two issues.

The first editor was Guy Ball, a neighborhood leader from the Wilshire Square Neighborhood located in the central part of the city. He stayed as editor for five years. The newsletter continued for three more years with editors including Catherine Cate and Susan Rinek, Mike and Connie Sasso, and Kevin Mireles.
The primarily English-language publication also worked to connect with the Spanish-speaking residents with editions of Enfoque Sobre Santa Ana, for two issues, and a fully-bilingual Eye on Santa Ana in its last year (1997)

The newsletter ceased publication in 1997. Scanned copies of the newsletter have been posted on this website.
